Project Overview:

DW Projects, a part of David Webster Limited, provide street lighting, communication and CCTV solutions to the Highways Agency and Local Authorities.  Having just completed a project to support the widening of the M1 Junctions 6a to 10, DW Projects were asked to bid for a subsequent project to widen the M1 between Junctions 10 and 13.  In particular they were asked to demonstrate why they represented best value and how they would bring innovation, improvement and efficiency to the project.  Their existing bid documents tended to be very 'word heavy' and extremely long, they had not been fundamentally reviewed over the previous five years.

Excellence in Business was commissioned to act as Bid Managers for DW Projects and to draft the quality submission for presentation to the Highways Agency for a potential £10-15M project.  We provided a team of specialists with extensive procurement and Highways experience, to review the company's existing approach to bid development; design a refreshed style of bid document; and subsequently develop the quality submission.

Project Outcomes/Impact:

1. Bid document completed within agreed timescales;
2. High levels of client satisfaction with the new style of the bid document;
3. Contract secured.
