Project Overview:
The West Midlands Local Government Association needed to undertake a project in order to establish the capacity building needs of the 39 local authorities within the Region. Excellence in Business was appointed to carry out this comprehensive piece of research work following a competitive tendering exercise. The project involved a team of consultants carrying out extensive consultation with officers and members in all councils across the region, summarising the findings and producing a detailed report.
Project outcomes/impact:
- The successful completion of the project on time and within budget;
- A comprehensive report clearly setting out the key capacity building needs of local authorities within the region, particular to address the requirements of CPA;
- Our report was signed off by the Regional Improvement & Efficiency Partnership and formed the basis of capacity building funding in to the Region for the following 3 years;
- Targeted and effective use of capacity building funds for West Midlands authorities to support a number of regional and sub-regional projects and learning events.
