Chris Geyton

Partner

Chris, a Partner in Excellence in Business, has over 20 years experience of working in both the private and public sectors.  Before joining the company in 1994, Chris worked across a range of central government departments and subsequently Training & Enterprise Councils.

 

He has 15 years experience of supporting organisations with the management of change, particularly in relation to implementing approaches to quality management & improvement; procurement and supplier management & partnering. Chris has supported many organisations with the management of change, business process re-engineering and human resource development.

 

Chris leads our Procurement Team, specialising in supporting business development and business improvement activity with a number of the UK's leading infrastructure companies.  Over the last 15 years Chris and the team have helped secure external funding and contracts exceeding £5 billion.  He has also helped organisations such as Balfour Beatty in developing their in-house capacity to support business review and improvement through internal review teams assessing the performance their client's contracts using a peer based approach.

 

Chris' support within the public sector includes a large number of local authorities and Fire & Rescue Services the latter for which he is developing a national reputation having worked with Department for Communities and Local Government in the development of peer review in F&R Services across the country. He has been intimately involved in the development and roll out of CPA and Operational Assurance Assessments with FRAs across the country.  He helped the CLG develop the methodology, process and key lines of enquiry and liaised with the Audit Commission regarding links between the operational review and CPA.  He has significant knowledge and a practical understanding of Best Value, CPA and the emerging CAA agenda.  Chris' specific expertise includes:

  • Procurement and tendering;

 

He also has an extensive knowledge and practical understanding of the EFQM Excellence Model.  As a result he has successfully worked with many organisations to support the introduction and use of the EFQM excellence model and its principles.  This has led to greater self-awareness by client organisations and extensive support in terms of the management of change.

 

Chris is also an ISO 9000 'Lead Auditor/Assessor' and has facilitated over 50 'peer review teams' across the UK in the last 8 years.

 

Away from work, Chris has a young family with three daughters who keep him busy and as a keen amateur chef, Chris spends much time in the kitchen. He still plays Tight Head Prop for Bridgnorth Rugby Club and during the summer months can be seen on two wheels at many of the UKs premier race circuits aboard his 100mph Lambretta!  Chris has a passion for winter sports and enjoys a good book.
