Chris joined Excellence in Business as a principal consultant, having previously been the Managing Director of Dbi Consulting Ltd. Chris joined EiB to lead our Programme & Project Management Team as he brings considerable expertise in this field. He also has a wealth of experience in organisational development and performance management, combined with operations management, gained through working in the field of logistics. He has worked extensively with senior management, both as individuals as well as Boards/Senior Management Teams.
His programme and project management experience ranges from the refitting of major Royal Navy warships through to the implementation of 'soft' change programmes, such as human resource development, terms and conditions of service and the introduction of strategic change agendas. As an experienced programme and project manager, Chris has particular expertise in the OGC's core methodologies of MSPTM (Managing Successful Programmes) and PRINCE2TM Project Management. He is an advanced practitioner and an accredited trainer in MSP, and is a practitioner and an accredited trainer in PRINCE2; he actively contributes to the development of both disciplines. He is one of the exam panel for MSP. Chris has also helped organisations wishing to develop their own structures and methodologies for programme and project management.
He has substantial experience of business planning and has been in the forefront of new approaches to management within the public sector. Chris led a major change programme for the Royal Navy, reporting directly to the main board, by developing and implementing their approach to strategic management. This involved creating and leading their first strategic planning process and introducing initiatives focused on the overall objective of performance improvement, including core value management, the Balanced Scorecard and the Excellence Model.
He has advised many organisations with the identification and achievement of benefits through adopting new management principles and processes, especially in the fields of budgetary and organisational structures, management of change, planning, and performance measurement, control and improvement. A particular focus on this work has been the Excellence Model and Balanced Business Scorecard for senior management, as well as programme and project management as methodologies for successful delivery and implementation.
