Gordon is a consultant of 25 years experience with a management background in a number of Departments of the Civil Service. He is a specialist trainer and deliverer of interpersonal, behavioural and communication skills. Gordon is adept at working on a one to one basis, facilitating large work groups and organisational learning and working with people from the Board to first line managers and practitioners.
He has developed a number of successful programmes across a range of different and diverse organisations including Blue chip companies ,private and public sector in the UK and across Europe. eg British Nuclear Fuels ,Vickers of Newcastle,Carrier, United Utilities,Airbus ,Ford Company ,Rolls Royce,as well as working in most Government Departments ,with Agencies Quangos and local Government.
A specialist in coaching and mentoring, Gordon currently works with Sheffield Council youth offending service specialising in coaching 10 to 17 year olds, their parents and associated organisations within the criminal justice system. His sensitivity in dealing with complex and difficult issues is evidenced by being selected by the Offending team to handle the most difficult and complex young offender cases ( involving sexual and psychological issues)
He is skilled at running development sessions where he uses his powers of observation and listening skills to provide feedback which is both insightful and provides clarity for people wanting to bring about change and influence. Able to work independently or as a member of a team he is personally committed to achieving measurable results as well as providing a quality service.
A National Award winner in diversity for a programme of personal development he designed and delivered this across a wide range of nationalities for the Inland Revenue that won Gold and silver National Diversity awards for 2 years running for the progress it achieved in equality and diversity . Gordon is used to working in diverse environments. He is acutely aware of culture,equality and diversity and of the need to diagnose thoroughly before acting to bring people to work together. He is experienced in working with interpreters ,with different cultures and with people who have English as their second language.
