Marie has 35 years local government experience, the last 12 of which have been in corporate organisational development at senior management level in a unitary council. This experience is underpinned by a masters degree in public sector management.
Extensive experience in the field of learning and development was gained through managing teams responsible for the learning and development needs of a unitary council covering 6000+ employees.
Marie has considerable experience of the development and implementation of corporate people strategies, workforce plans and the design and implementation of employee surveys and subsequent action planning and has a proven track record in the development and implementation of leadership development programmes, including a senior leadership programme which was recognised in the National Training Awards. These programmes were underpinned by bespoke competencies, 360 degree appraisal and coaching.
A key role was played, by Marie, in the district council's transition to unitary status running a project to develop the culture and values for the new council. She also managed a complex project to reform the political management processes in the unitary council.
She has played a very active role regionally, being a key player in the development of the innovative West Midlands Regional Coaching Pool and a number of other regional projects around leadership development and workforce planning.
Marie is a particularly skilled trainer, facilitator and coach with a level 7 diploma in Executive Coaching and Mentoring. She is also trained to interpret 360 degree feedback reports and apply and interpret a range of psychometric tests in both career development and recruitment.
When Marie is not working she enjoys walking, cooking, travel, and following Formula One.
