Managing Partner

Scott is a founding Partner of Excellence in Business with over 20 years experience in management and consultancy. Scott heads our Organisational Development solutions team.  Working throughout the UK, in both the public and private sectors, he has extensive experience in supporting clients with all aspects of improving their organisation.

Scott's particular strength is in ensuring that every client project leads to tangible and demonstrable improvements in the clients' performance, particularly in reducing costs, improving efficiency and raising levels of customer satisfaction.  This often involves the development, implementation and facilitation of innovative business strategies and solutions. Scott is adept at working at all levels within client organisations, from the board room to the front line.  His consultancy support includes:

Scott places great emphasis on the creation of bespoke solutions. He has worked with central government departments, local authorities, fire & rescue authorities, government agencies, housing associations, the oil and gas industry, infrastructure companies, telecoms and many others.  He fundamentally believes in the benefits to be gained through sharing knowledge, learning and best practice across all sectors, in order to maximise the impact of our solutions on individual clients.

With an extensive knowledge and practical understanding of Organisational Development, Scott has led major reviews and restructuring projects within national and multi national organisations.  He has also supported the creation of Joint Venture companies and Public/Private sector partnerships. Clients regularly describe Scott's greatest strength as the challenging nature of his approach and his obsession with ensuring that every project delivers real impact on organisational performance.

Over the last 5 years Scott has worked with public sector organisations to respond to the challenges of the Gershon agenda and the desire for more joined up service delivery.  This work has involved developing, evaluating and implementing new options for service delivery, through either improved internal structures and processes; partnerships with other public sector bodies; or the innovative engagement of the private sector.  This work involves Scott in staying at the leading edge in relation to procurement options.  He led the first procurement process based on the use of competitive dialogue within local government, and is a recognised specialist in partnership focused public procurement.

Outside of work, Scott has a busy family life with two teenage children. He has been described as 'a bit obsessed' with rugby as he referees, coaches and is chairman of a mini & junior rugby club.  He enjoys skiing, sailing and is a keen scuba diver
